A. PART I — submit directly to the Department of Art and Art History Portfolio of 20 significant pieces representing your work. The portfolio must be a Microsoft Powerpoint slideshow on the CD. Each image in the slideshow must be in .jpeg format, no larger than 7.5 x 10? at 72 dpi. Each image must include the artist’s name, title of work, date work was completed, dimensions (height x width x depth, as applicable), and medium. Curriculum vitae/resume Self-addressed stamped envelope with appropriate postage for return of CD (if desired) Completed Department Information Sheet and Assistantship Application (if desired) Three letters of recommendation on official letterhead (the letters must each be in a sealed envelope with the recommender’s signature across the seal on the outside of the envelope. Completed application form (available here) Statement of purpose Official transcript(s) The Graduate School does not require the MAT or GRE for admission to the graduate program in studio art. Each studio applicant must submit a comprehensive portfolio of work directly to the Department of Art and Art History, this portfolio should include a minimum of 20 works of art in the proposed major. The applicant must have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 overall, 3.0 for the last 60 semester hours in a degree program, or 3.0 for a completed graduate degree program. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): The minimum score for admission to a degree program or for non-degree admission is 550 on the paper-based TOEFL or 79 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT). International English Language Testing System (IELTS): The minimum score for admission to a degree program or for non-degree admission is 6.5. Each international application must hold the equivalent of a U.S. four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution to be eligible for graduate admission.
